About Amanda Kessaris

I, Amanda Kessaris (2001), am a Danish/American visual artist who graduated from Aarhus Art Academy in May 2026. In my practice, I explore belonging, longing, loss, nostalgia, and transience. I often work in collaboration with my surroundings – such as plants, archives, construction remnants, and the weather – and continuously seek new ways to involve the world around me in my methods, materials, and motifs. My works are rooted in both personal and collective experiences and examine how our fast, digital, and overproducing present awakens a longing for slowness, the analogue, and for times that may never have been experienced personally.

My works have been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including at KØN Museum (DK), Den Frie Udstillingsbygning (DK), Arom Gallery (UN), Galleri Blunk (NO), Kvart Gallery (DK), KunstCentret Silkeborg Bad (DK), Steno Museum (DK), and Janus Museum of Modern Art (DK).
