Om Amanda Kessaris

Amanda Kessaris (DK/USA, 2001) is a Danish-American artist who explores themes such as home, identity and transience through a mix of analogue and digital media. She collaborates with nature through cyanotype and the slow, plant-based photographic process anthotype to create works that contain both personal and collective memories. In her practice, digital elements such as PNG files and photographs often meet, graphic craft and American patchwork tradition, creating a field of tension between the physical and the virtual. Her works portray a transient, undefined home and self that contains both past, present and future. Kessaris is currently in her final year at Aarhus Academy of Fine Arts. Her works have been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including at KØN Museum (DK), Den Frie Udstillingsbygning (DK), Arom Gallery (UN), Galleri Blunk (NO), Kvart Gallery (DK), and KunstCentret Silkeborg Bad (DK).
