The work Home.png was purchased by the Silkeborg Bad Art Center in June 2025. The work can be experienced as a permanent part of their sculpture park.

Home.png is a sculpture shaped like a playhouse covered in white and light grey tiles, imitating the appearance of a PNG file – the pattern we see on the screen when an image has no background, or when something in the image has been removed. The work functions as a meeting between the digital and the analogue, creating a space for reflection on our time, which is characterized by "content overload" and nostalgia. A time when overconsumption and overproduction often dilute what matters most.

The PNG pattern functions as both a blank canvas and a negative space. It represents a home that has been, may never have been, or may never be. It becomes a space where time, place and belonging are constantly in motion. The slow process of creating a mosaic work that imitates something that otherwise only exists in the virtual world reflects the human creation of and encounter with the digital world we live in. The work is built on a pallet - a base that suggests that one can always move - or more precisely "copy and paste" - the home into a new context. Home.png is a symbol of an undefined, ephemeral home, which is independent of - but still influenced by - its surroundings.

The sculpture invites visitors to relate to their own belonging to and definition of home. A home that is both present and absent in the work.

Home.png suggests that visitors can "play home" and use the work as a blank canvas for their imagination. When adults interact with the work, they literally have to make themselves small in order to step into the construction - a physical gesture that encourages them to put themselves in the shoes of children and young people and consider what home means for the next generation.
