The Overseen Body - Collaborative artwork with Steno Museum and Aarhus Efterskole

Text from the Steno Museum: The winners of the assignment to co-create a work with pupils about anxiety were Amanda Kessaris and Ida Fonslet:
"The aim is to create a textile artwork in collaboration with the young participants, where each pupil contributes embroidered depictions of anxiety. The slow, meticulous work requires presence and patience, and the repetitive movements of the soft craft can have a stress- and anxiety-reducing effect."
When the Steno Museum opened the exhibition The Overlooked Body in January 2025, it marked the first step in a larger exhibition project about how the biological female body has historically, and still today, been underrepresented in medical research. The next exhibition, which will include the two artworks, opens in May 2026 and is being co-created by researchers, school pupils and artists.
There is great anticipation for experiencing the works and for the entire co-creation process.
